Performance and/or Design Requirements:

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) is in need of upgrading existing proprietary Honeywell EBI redundant UL servers from R410 to R500 to ensure continued effective monitoring of fire systems for life/safety purposes. Estimated Dollar Amount: $71,321.30. Intended source:

Honeywell International Inc. through Honeywell Building Solutions

9440 Phillips Hwy, Ste-4.

Jacksonville, FL, 32256

904.260.5905

Justification for single source acquisition:

The existing Honeywell fire alarm command and control system (EBI) referenced above is a proprietary product of Honeywell HBS. All campus fire alarm and security panels are monitored and controlled by the current EBI in the Police Services building. The EBI software is hosted on redundant servers and is part of a dedicated network providing life safety and security monitoring/control for the campus.

The present systems were installed by factory trained Honeywell HBS technicians. Honeywell service technicians are familiar with the system’s components. Our technicians have access to all Honeywell literature, technical bulletins, and system update information, as well as support from our Technical Assistance Center (TAC) and Engineering Centers. Honeywell technicians and engineers are the only persons with access to the CAE environment and to the systems software updates.
