The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service, is seeking bids for cattle grazing on a portion of the Seminole State Forest located in Lake County, Florida. The grazing area contains approximately 1,006 acres. The breakout of this grazing area is as follows: 474 acres of pasture, 69 acres of forested uplands, 350 acres of forested wetlands, 89 acres of scrub and 8 acres of seasonal wetlands. The initial stocking rate is 98 animal units. The contract length for these agreements will be for five years with a five year extension option.
