STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVE:

This is a competitive solicitation for an invitation to negotiate (“ITN”) with The Florida International University Board of Trustees (hereinafter referred to as “FIU” or as the “University”).

FIU desires to provide greater flexibility, availability, and variety when evaluating potential caterers for events offered on the Modesto A. Maidique Campus, the Biscayne Bay Campus, and/or the Engineering Center Campus (the “FIU Campuses”) that are paid with University funds inclusive of University concession fund, FIU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Florida International University Foundation Funds (the “FIU Foundation Funds”) and/or state appropriation funds.

Accordingly, this ITN will enable FIU to enter into Contract(s) (as hereinafter defined) with multiple Successful Respondents to this ITN who will be included on the Approved List (as hereinafter defined) of Contractors (as hereinafter defined) to provide Catering Services (as hereinafter defined) for FIU-related meeting functions, conferences and special events held on FIU Campuses, or other designated locations.

Any Contract(s) resulting from this ITN is not a guarantee of work, nor a guarantee that a minimum dollar amount is allocated for payment of Catering Services.

FIU anticipates that the Approved List will consist of multiple caterers, from small to large companies, to meet the broad range of needs of the University.

Depending on the event, the range of event participants may be from 10 to 500.

The initial term of the Contract will be for three (3) years (the “Initial Term”). The University will have the option, in its sole and absolute discretion, to renew the Contract for two (2) additional, three (3) year periods (each, a “Renewal Term”) (the Initial Term and the Renewal Term(s) shall be known, collectively, as the “Term”). Renewals are not automatic and shall be subject to the Successful Respondent agreeing to any new terms required by the University.
