1.        Request approval of the minutes of the meeting held August 12, 2003.

        2.        Selection of the Executive Director and Chief Administrative Law Judge for the

              Division of Administrative Hearings.

Section 120.65, Florida Statutes, authorizes the Administration Commission, with Senate confirmation, to appoint an executive director of the Division of Administrative Hearings (DOAH) within the Department of Management Services.  The executive director also serves as DOAH’s chief administrative law judge.  The position became vacant upon the retirement of Sharyn Smith. 

On June 12, 2003, the Administration Commission appointed a four member selection committee for the statewide advertisement, review and recommendation of no less than five names to the Commission for the purpose of appointing a DOAH executive director and chief administrative law judge.  The selection committee has concluded the selection process as charged and transmits the following five candidates for consideration by the Administration Commission:

Virlindia Albritton Doss

William Ralph Pfeiffer

Steven Scott Stephens
