2. Empowering Young Minds Academy, Inc. vs. Duval County School Board

On March 20, 2001 the Duval County School Board voted to not renew the charter for Empowering Young Minds Academy, Inc. This appeal is brought to the State Board of Education pursuant to Chapter 228.056, Florida Statutes, which includes provisions governing the appeal process for charter schools. This item was deferred at the May 30, 2001, State Board Meeting at the request of the applicant and school board.
