ITEM SUBJECT RECOMMENDATION

Administration

1. Developmental Center vs. Hillsborough County School Board

On November 6, 2001, the Hillsborough County School Board unanimously accepted the amended recommendation of Superintendent Earl Lennard that no charter applications be considered for the 2002-2003 school year. This appeal is brought to the State Board of Education, pursuant to Chapter 228.056, Florida Statutes, which includes provisions governing the appeal process for charter schools.

2. The Hillsborough Charter Foundation, Inc. vs. Hillsborough County School Board

On November 6, 2001, the Hillsborough County School Board unanimously accepted the amended recommendation of Superintendent Earl Lennard that no charter applications be considered for the 2002-2003 school year. 3. The Summerport Charter Foundation vs. Orange County School Board

On November 20, 2001, the Orange County School Board unanimously voted to deny the Summerport Charter Foundation Application. This appeal is brought to the State Board of Education, pursuant to Chapter 228.056, Florida Statutes, which includes provisions governing the appeal process for charter schools.
