Survivability Planning
The term survivability is best understood as the Office of Information Security's ability to link strategic planning, Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) efforts with Risk Assessment and operational mitigation approaches. The survivability and viability of the state network will be accomplished by blending the resources of security, network and systems operations within each agency. Together these three entities will work to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information technology resources. Security will focus on proactive monitoring of the state network. Network will focus on the health of the state of Florida network infrastructure and systems operations will focus on the health of physical information technology assets. These teams will together evaluate information technology incidents and determine if the incident is non-security related or if the incident is a security issue. In the event of a security incident the Computer Security Incident Response Team would be deployed.
