Reimbursement AccountsIf you are enrolled in a medical reimbursement account as an active employee, you can continue your benefit through the end of the reimbursement period as a new retiree, provided the balance of your account is paid from your leave payout. Complete and submit a "MRA Options When Employment Ends Form" located under Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Account Forms and Publications. This form gives you the option of paying the balance of your account on a pretax basis from your sick or annual leave payout, or you can pay by personal check on a post-tax basis. Once you make the election, you will have until the end of the reimbursement period to file claims. Otherwise your account will terminate If you are enrolled in a Dependent Care Reimbursement Account, you may incur expenses up to and as of the last date of your employment.
