protective eyewearSome of the common causes of eye injuries on the job are: flying objects (bits of glass or metal), tools, particles, chemicals, and harmful radiation. Ninety percent of eye injuries in accidents could be avoided by simply using the proper protective eyewear.   You can substantially lessen your risk of an eye injury by:

  • knowing the eye safety dangers where you work,
  • eliminating hazards before starting work, and
  • wearing proper eye protection.

Learn what the risks are and make sure you are prepared by choosing the proper protective eyewear for your work environment.  Talk to your employer about any safety concerns you may have and learn about the types of protective eyewear available.  The key is to be aware and well informed.  Don’t risk your sight because you didn’t plan on safety.
