POSITION
SUMMARY:
The City of
The ideal candidate
must have a combination of community development and City planning experience.
This person will manage and enforce all aspects of the City’s land development
code, Comprehensive Plan, and Redevelopment Plan. The Director attends public
meeting, coordinates agendas and provides assistance to various City advisory,
quasi-judicial boards and the City Council.
This position requires strong public relations skills in being able to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with Elected Officials,
City staff, Board Members and the general public that utilize this Office’s
services. Dedication to outstanding customer service is a high priority.
Focus will be on
development and re-development activities which may include Mixed-Use projects,
establishing a Community Redevelopment Agency and Redevelopment Areas. Revise
the City Land Development Codes and initiate the Evaluation and Appraisal
Report based Comprehensive Plan Amendments. Restructure and oversee the
Development Review Process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of
an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in Urban Planning or
a related field. Five (5) years in land use planning, five (5) years in a
supervisory role, and three (3) years as a municipal department head. Must have
a valid Florida Driver’s License. Prefer certification by the American
Institute of Certified Planners.
Work Hours: 8:30 A.M. to 5: 00 P.M. & Evening Meeting
