The Building Department, under the direction of the Building Official, is responsible for protection the health, safety and welfare of the general public through the interpretation and enforcement of all construction codes and the code of ordinances as adopted by the city.

Building Official's Responsibilities:

City Construction Administration
Issuing all required permits, plan reviews, inspections, code enforcement

Advisory Board Assistance
Technical assistance to the Planning & Zoning Board, Local Planning Agency, Zoning Board of Adjustment and Appeals, Code Enforcement Board, Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals and the Community Appearance Board.
