Advisory Board candidates must be registered voters
and residents of the City for at
least 12 months preceding appointment. All Board meetings are held in the City
Hall Annex, 111 Polk Avenue unless otherwise noted.

Current Board Vacancies
Beautification Board
Plans and proposes to the City Council landscaping and beautification programs.
Board
meets the second Tuesday of every month.
One Member Vacancy
Board of Adjustment
Grants special exceptions and variances; hears appeals regarding decisions made by the
Building Official. Board meets on an "as needed" basis. Meetings are held on
Monday evenings.

Business & Cultural Development Board
Members shall be residents of the City or employed in a full-time position at
a place of business or employment within the City, or a person whom the Council deems
qualified to promote the purposes as descried in Section 22-23. Prepare a commercial
development plan to be submitted to the City Council; determine unmet commercial needs of
the citizens of Cape Canaveral; and encourage in any manner the development of business,
commerce, industry, culture and tourism in the City. Board meets the third Wednesday of
every month.

Code Enforcement Board
Examines cases presented by the City's Code Enforcement Officer; also empowered to levy
fines against citizens violating City codes. Board meets every month, on the Thursday
following the second regular Council meeting.

Community Appearance Board
To encourage uniform architectural standards and cohesive community development consistent
with the intent and purpose of Article II, Section 22-37. Board
meets the first and third Monday of each month. All members shall be
qualified by reason of training or expertise in art, architecture, community
planning, land development, real estate, landscape architecture or other
relevant business or profession, or by reason of civic interest so as to be
considered a sound judge of the aesthetic effect and impact upon property
values, desirability, and the economic, social and cultural patterns of the
community of a proposed building or structure on surrounding areas.

Construction Board of Adjustment & Appeals
This board shall have the power, as further defined in section 82-33 to hear
appeals of decisions and interpretations of the building official and consider
variances of the technical codes. Meetings
are scheduled on an as-needed basis. Members of the Construction Board of
Adjustment and Appeals should be composed of individuals with knowledge and
experience in the technical codes, such as design professionals, contractors or
building industry representatives.

Library Board
Advise and consult with the Librarian on the operation of the Library. Board meets the
second Tuesday of every other month at the Cape Canaveral Library, at 2:00 PM.

Planning and Zoning Board
Act in an advisory capacity to the City Council in matters relating to zoning and land
use. Board meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month.

Recreation Board
Advise the City Council on matters pertaining to public parks and recreation. Board meets
on the 4th Monday of every other month.

The public may comment on specific agenda items during
meetings and on general topics during discussion sessions.
The "Audience To Be Heard" section on a
City Council Agenda is for the general public to speak on any non-agenda item. Citizens
will limit their comments to five (5) minutes. The City Council will not take any action
under the "Audience To Be Heard" section of the agenda. The Council may schedule
such items as regular agenda items and act upon them in the future.
