Getting Around

Community Analysis is optimized for use in Internet Explorer 4.0 or later.   Other browsers will still work, however, some browsers (such as the AOL browser) do not provide maximum usage opportunities.  We recommend AOL users open Internet Explorer instead of using the AOL browser.  In Internet Explorer and most other browsers, when you select from the "Basic Planning Tools" menu or the "Advanced Planning Tools" menu on the initial screen, your selection will open in a new window (some versions of AOL and some other browsers do not open a second window).

The main menu remains open so you can easily return (choose it's icon on task bar).  When you return and make a new selection, your choice will appear in the second window if you left it open, or will open a new second window if you closed the previous one.  You can use your browser's OPEN IN NEW WINDOW function to cause more than two windows to be opened, leaving multiple pages open for comparisons, etc.

Use your browser's BACK feature to return to a previous page (except for the first page which may have remained open in a separate window as described above).

Your browser's  FIND  feature is functional, and will locate the search term if it is located in the section currently on the screen.

Printing

Your browser's PRINT feature is functional, and will print the text of the section currently on the screen, which is already formatted for easy printing.

Main Page Advanced Planning Tools: As noted in the "Frequently Asked Questions" section below, not all searches or queries will be successful.

otherwise...
...try the Common Index of Comprehensive Plan GOPs & the Code first.  Unlike a traditional index, each index entry has a brief description of the applicable  code section to allow you to rapidly determine which selections are applicable.   Follow the link to the appropriate code section, then skim the page or use your browsers FIND function to search for your term.
...or else try using your browsers FIND function on the Table of Contents for the Code.
...or else skim the Table of Contents for closely related subjects.

Why isn't the word I'm looking for here?

Many words appeared so many times that the results were too large to be useful and thus not included, other words may not have been indexed...
...try using your browsers FIND function on the Code Table of Contents.
...or skim the Code Table of Contents or look up synonyms or similar terms in the Common Index of Comprehensive Plan GOPs & the Code for closely related subjects.
