(a) Signs on awnings shall be allowed only on that vertical portion commonly referred to as the valance or fringe and shall be calculated as a portion of any allowable wall sign.

(b) Signs on canopies shall be allowed only when calculated as a portion of any allowable wall sign.

(c) Address numbers on canopies and awnings shall not be considered as a portion of the allowable sign footage.
