Whenever it is desirable to connect old exterior plumbing with the city sewer main, the owner or plumber contemplating doing such work shall notify the building official, who will inspect the old exterior plumbing and notify the owner or plumber if alterations will be necessary to place the old exterior plumbing in an acceptable condition for such connection.
