PROJECT NAME: Shell Point Beach Nourishment BID SUBMITTAL DUE DATE: No later than 3:30PM (ET), Tuesday, September 12, 2017, to the below address: Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Design and Construction, 3800 Commonwealth Blvd. MS520, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-3000, Attention Mae Roth, Government Operations Consultant II, Bureau of Design and Construction, (850) 245-2781. (For hand delivery: Carr Building, Welcome Desk.) The Department reserves the right to reject any or all bids. BID POSTING DATE: No later than 3:30PM (ET), Tuesday, September 19, 2017, unless extended by the Department for good cause. INSTRUCTIONS: Documents for this bid will be available for download on July 31, 2017. Any firm desiring a Project Manual with the plans for this project may obtain directions by emailing BDC_Contracts@dep.state.fl.us SCOPE OF WORK: Base Bid: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and permitting to place approximately 3,000 cubic yards of beach-compatible sand from an approved upland source, construct a wooden retaining wall, install an oyster-bag breakwater, and plant vegetation for sand stabilization, to restore the historic width and slope/profile of approximately 800 feet of the county-owned beach. Builder’s Risk Insurance is required for this project and must be included in bid price.
