The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service, is seeking bids for cattle grazing on a portion of the Withlacoochee State Forest located in Sumter County, Florida. The grazing area contains approximately 1,225 acres. The breakout of this grazing area is as follows: 839 acres of pasture, 360 acres of hammock and 26 acres of seasonal wetlands. The initial stocking rate is 220 animal units. The contract length for these agreements will be for five years with a three-year extension option.
