PROJECT NAME: Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park – Repair and Renovate Dock

BID SUBMITTAL DUE DATE: No later than 3:30 PM(ET), Tuesday, July 16, 2019, to the below address: Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Design and Construction, 3800 Commonwealth Blvd. MS520, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-3000, Attention Alyssa Skehan, Government Operations Consultant II, Bureau of Design and Construction, (850) 245-2781. (For hand delivery: Carr Building, Welcome Desk.) The Department reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

BID POSTING DATE: No later than 3:30 PM (ET), Tuesday, July 23, 2019, unless extended by the Department for good cause.

INSTRUCTIONS: Documents for this bid will be available for download on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. Any firm desiring a Project Manual with the plans for this project may obtain directions by emailing BDC_Contracts@dep.state.fl.us

SCOPE OF WORK:

Base Bid:

Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, permitting and supervision necessary to demolish the existing Lower Dock components and construct the Lower Dock at Lignumvitae Key using 5/4” P.T. for the decking and as shown in the construction documents. All lumber to be pressure treated wood #2 SYP 2.5 CCA.

Alternate #1

Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, permitting and supervision necessary to demolish the existing Double T Panels, repair spalled areas, and re-construct the Concrete Dock at Lignumvitae Key using 5/4” P.T. for the decking, and as shown in the construction documents. All lumber to be pressure treated wood #2 SYP 2.5 CCA.

Alternate #2

Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, permitting and supervision necessary to demolish the existing Wood Dock Approach and then construct the Wood Dock Approach at Lignumvitae Key using 5/4” P.T. for the decking, and as shown in the construction documents. All lumber to be pressure treated wood #2 SYP 2.5 CCA.

Alternate #3

Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, permitting and supervision necessary to construct the Concrete Dock at Lignumvitae Key using 5/4” Composite Decking, and as shown in the construction documents. This is an alternate for Composite Decking to be used in place of the P.T. decking. Only show the price differential (or upcharge) for the composite decking and appurtenances.

Alternate #4

Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, permitting and supervision necessary to construct the Wood Dock Approach at Lignumvitae Key using 5/4” Composite Decking, and as shown in the construction documents. This is an alternate for Composite Decking to be used in lace of the P.T. decking. Only show the price differential (or upcharge) for the composite decking and appurtenances.

Alternate #5

Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, permitting and supervision necessary to construct the Lower Dock at Lignumvitae Key using 5/4” Composite Decking, and as shown in the construction documents. This is an alternate for Composite Decking to be used in place of the P.T. decking. Only show the price differential (or upcharge) for the composite decking and appurtenances.

Installation Floater and Longshoreman’s Insurance is required for this project and must be included in bid price.

Note: Bidder Prequalification is required for all bids. Each bidder shall provide a copy of its biennial pre-qualification letter from FDEP’s Bureau of Design and Construction. If not prequalified, the bidder must submit a current State Contractor license certification or registration and current Corporate Charter registration with the bid.
