The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of palmetto fronds. This sale is for the harvesting of saw palmetto fronds from approximately 6,173 acres within the Richloam Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest, in Hernando and Sumter Counties, Florida. Fronds may be harvested from saw palmetto (Serenoa repens). The harvesting of any other part of the plant or any other species will result in termination of this contract. This will be a twelve (12) month contract. Interested parties may obtain complete bid information by contacting Justin Draft at (352) 797-4125.The Florida Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularity in bids received.
