The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This sale is a 30 acre clearcut of sand pine and a 106 acre fourth row operator select thinning located on Jennings State Forest (SFI Certified Forest #NSF-SFI-FM-C0245755) in Clay and Duval Counties. Timber available for harvest in the 30 acre clearcut includes all merchantable timber within the sale boundaries. Timber available for harvest in the 106 acre thinning area includes every fourth row for access as well as select trees in the leave rows. This stand is a mix of longleaf, slash, loblolly and sand pine. Trees to be removed from the select rows includes any forked, diseased, or suppressed trees, as well as any sand pine and a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to leave a basal area of 55-65 square feet per acre. Total estimated volumes to be removed includes 1,728 tons of sand pine pulpwood, 3,510 tons of pine pulpwood and 796 tons of Chip-N-Saw and Better. Sale boundaries are firelines, roads, orange painted line or obvious timber type changes. This will be a twelve (12) month contract. The Florida Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularity in bids received.
