The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This timber sale is a marked second thinning on approximately 66 acres of 32-year-old planted slash pine on Pine Log State Forest in Washington County, Florida and an 8 acre thinning and 3.5 acre clearcut of planted slash pine at the Vicksburg Forestry Site in Bay County, Florida. Timber must be harvested on the Vicksburg site within 3 months of contract execution. Timber to be harvested includes all blue marked slash pine trees throughout the sale area (clearcut area has been marked as well). Un-marked timber is not to be removed or damaged in anyway. The sale boundary can be indicated by roads and dissimilar forest communities. The estimated volumes to be removed from the sale are: 1,344 tons of pine pulpwood and 677 tons of pine chip and saw and better. The Forester-in-Charge will determine ramping locations and all best management practices must be followed. The length of this contract for the Pine Log State Forest portion of the sale is for twelve (12) months.
