The Department of Children and Families (Department), Southern Region Office of Family & Community Services, is issuing this solicitation for the purpose of procuring a Community Based Care Lead Agency to provide care for children in the child protection and child welfare system in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. “Care” means services of any kind which are designed to facilitate a child remaining safely in his or her own home, returning safely to his or her own home if he or she is removed from the home, or obtaining an alternative permanent home if he or she cannot remain at home or be returned home or developing the capacity for independent living and competence as an adult. Pursuant to section 409.987, F. S., the Department of Children and Families is seeking a qualified Florida corporation or a governmental entity to serve as the lead agency in the Southern Region – Circuits 11 & 16 (Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties) to manage and ensure the delivery of an integrated system of care for the provision of foster care and related services including, but not limited to: prevention, diversion, case management, emergency shelter, in-home care protective services, family preservation, relative care placement, foster care, therapeutic foster care, medical foster care, foster care supervision, family reunification, residential group care, intensive residential treatment, post-placement supervision, independent living, adoption, post-adoption, and appropriate related services.
