The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This sale area consists of 147 acres in two stands in the Black Prong Tract of Goethe State Forest, in Levy County, Florida. Stand 1 is a shelter wood harvest of approximately 77 acres of slash and longleaf pine. Timber to be removed includes all unmarked trees. All trees marked in blue paint are not to be harvested or damaged. Stand 1 boundary includes roads or fire lines. Stand 2 is a seed tree regeneration harvest of 70 acres of natural longleaf pine and natural and planted slash pine. Timber to be removed includes all unmarked trees. All trees marked in blue paint are not to be harvested or damaged. Stand 2 boundaries are Chimney Road to the north, cypress ponds and hardwoods to the east, Black Prong Road 75 to the south, and GSF boundary to the west. Estimated volumes are 2,489 tons of sawtimber, 2,265 tons of Chip-N-Saw and 1,458 tons pulpwood (including of tops). Contract length is 12 (twelve) months.
