The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This is an 80 acre seed tree cut located on Lake Talquin State Forest in Gadsden County, Florida. The sale is comprised mainly of slash pine, but also includes loblolly and various hardwood species. Trees available for harvest are any tree within the boundary of the sale that is not marked with orange and/or blue paint. No longleaf pine or snags (dead trees) shall be harvest from this sale. Boundaries for the sale include roads, fire lines, obvious timber changes, natural ecosystem changes, and areas marked with blue paint. Estimated volumes of timber to be removed includes 1227 tons of pine pulpwood, 540 tons of chip-n-saw, 1642 tons of sawtimber, and 440 tons of hardwood pulpwood. This will be a twelve (12) month contract.
