The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This timber sale is approximately 136 acres of thinning and clearcuts on Lake Talquin State Forest in Gadsden County, FL. The sale includes 102 acres of first and second thinning, and 34 acres of clearcut. All trees marked with blue paint within the thinning sale area are available for harvest. Trees marked with yellow paint are not to be harvested. All merchantable trees within the clearcut sale area are also available for harvest. Sale boundaries include roads, firelines, obvious changes of timber type, and trees marked with yellow paint. Estimated volumes to be removed includes: 2,042 tons of pulpwood, 1,435 tons of chip-n-saw, 301 tons of sawtimber and 201 tons of hardwood pulpwood. This will be a twelve month contract.
