FDLE's mission is to promote public safety and strengthen domestic security by providing services in partnership with local, state and federal criminal justice agencies to prevent, investigate, and solve crimes while protecting Florida's citizens and visitors.

Through seven Regional Operations Centers, fifteen Field Offices, and seven Crime Laboratories, FDLE delivers investigative, forensic and information systems services to Florida's criminal justice community.

FDLE provides many prevention and crime information services to the public including criminal history record checks, the seal and expunge of criminal history records, sexual predator and career offender tracking, crime statistics, and a missing children clearinghouse.
